Diptford’s Tantalising and Terrific Tag Rugby Results (Year 3&4)!

What a performance Diptford put on at the Totnes Learning Communities Tag Rugby Competition this evening… Mr Lyndon (KEVICC Sports Partnership Coordinator) said ‘this was the best rugby he’d ever seen for this age category!’ Mr Nute agrees!

Prior to the match Mr Nute was apprehensive on how well we’d do; the team was made up of mostly year 3’s (apart from one year 4) in a year 3/4 competition. However, the team proved him wrong and demonstrated some outstanding play. Diptford recovered well from an initial defeat from South Brent A to draw against South Brent B and then went on to beat both The Grove and Landscove; by significant margins. Diptford’s captain, Seb Lethbridge, rose to the challenge, demonstrating some great leadership skills, and organised the team to ensure they were covering gaps in defence and were attacking using tactical manoeuvres such as fake passes and side steps! The team showed fantastic comradeship and did Diptford VERY proud. As a result of coming 2nd overall in the Totnes Learning Community Diptford have gone through to the area finals taking place at Stover on Tuesday 29th November. Good luck Diptford!
